Cheer on the 25,000 runners when they take to the pavement in the rural town of Hopkinton and begin the legendary course through eight cities and towns before crossing the Finish Line in Boston's Back Bay.

The Steamship Authority's Customer Appreciation Day April 24th 
The Steamship Authority hosts a Customer Appreciation Day on Tuesday, April 24, rain or shine, as they welcome their high-speed ferry, the Iyanough, back to service for the 2012 season. The Iyanough serves the 26 mile route between Hyannis and Nantucket with one hour crossing times.

The Friends of the Public Garden will celebrate Mother's Day with its annual Duckling Day Parade on Sunday, May 13th. Registration begins at 10:30am and the Parade steps off at noon.
Based on the children's classic Make Way for Ducklings by Robert McCloskey, Duckling Day is an annual event where children and their families retrace the steps of the beloved characters Mr. and Mrs. Mallard and their family of eight ducklings.

In observance of UNESCO's November 10 decision to proclaim April 30 of each year as International Jazz Day, JazzBoston has adopted an international theme for its 6th annual presentation of Jazz Week throughout the Greater Boston area this spring. For 10 days from April 27 to May 6, Jazz Week '12 International will put the spotlight on the cultural diversity that gives the Greater Boston jazz scene its unique flavor. Hundreds of talented musicians, both home grown and from around the world, will perform in over 90 venues in and around the city, and special cross-cultural collaborations will highlight the power of jazz to create unity from diversity.

The Boston LGBT Film Festival is the longest running and largest LGBT media event in New England. Founded in 1984 by film programmer George Mansour, the LGBT Film Festival celebrates, displays and distributes work by and for LGBT media makers – work that entertains, enriches and enlightens all audiences in the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and allied communities. The annual Festival screenings showcase international, US, and local film, video, and other media, fostering a greater sense of awareness and community among LGBT and LGBT-friendly audiences.
